So our friend Hutrin was poking through scenes from Chile last week, and he reminded us of a certain extended soap sequence which deserves some special attention.

Over the course of eight episodes of the 2017 drama Amanda, the title character played by Daniela Ramírez finds herself tied to a chair and later on the floor of a storeroom, and gagged at times with either duct tape or a cloth cleave.

It's a fairly solid sequence all around, but the most noteworthy part of it for many DiD fans will be right at the beginning, with one of the longest and most dramatic chloroform capture scenes ever aired. If you've ever been frustrated by scenes in which a damsel passes out within two seconds of a cloth hitting her face, this...is not that.
