We did it! It took almost a month, but we finally had enough room in our update schedule to publish all 29 fresh edits from 26 episodes of this famously DiD-friendly Turkish crime drama. That includes every major scene from the show that we're aware of (did we miss any?), including every scene featuring a gag.
To celebrate, I've chosen what I consider to be the best 18 scenes from the show's first 15 years, and you'll find them in the playlist below. The first four seasons are in SD, while the newer episodes are in HD or (usually) Full HD. With the possible exception of one clip that's missing a proper resolution (which we'll try to fix in due time), I think they're among the best edits of these scenes that you'll find anywhere.
While working my way through the series, I was struck by the degree to which it's transitioned over the past decade from "damsel of the week" storylines to more involved scenes featuring the main characters. This became especially evident after Oya Okar joined the cast in 2015: she's been bound and gagged four times since then. (Two of those scenes are long enough to require two clips, of which only the first is included on the playlist, so be sure to visit the series page or Ms. Okar's cast page to find out how they end!)
Still, if forced to pick the show's single best scene, I doubt I'd be alone in choosing the episode from March 2, 2018. It features another series regular, Merve Oflaz, whose two-minute escape sequence while tape gagged and tied AOH in the back of a moving truck is truly one for the ages. (It doesn't hurt that it includes one of the most over-the-top musical soundtracks I've ever heard in a DiD scene, complete with drum solos and an actual choir.)
While some might complain that Back Streets has been going through a bit of a dry spell lately on the DiD front, we hope (and fully expect) that it will be giving us terrific scenes for many years to come.
